Texas Lawyer honors Austin lawyer as a 2019 On the Rise winner

Texas Lawyer honored Tamsen Barrett (Austin) for her steady, growing success in the intellectual property field with a 2019 On the Rise award.
With these awards, Texas Lawyer recognizes lawyers under the age of 40 who have wielded influence in their practice areas in Texas and beyond. These lawyers are often innovators, have developed unique practice niches, amassed robust books of business, demonstrated strong leadership qualities, shown expertise in litigation, in-house or transactional work and committed themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.
Barrett is carving out a position as a top IP legal practitioner in the chemical and biotechnology area. When a Mideast petrochemical company sought to expand into a new business area, they relied on her counsel. She formulated a strategy and managed a team of technical experts and lawyers to complete a freedom to operate request for clearing potential new products with patent offices in their local jurisdictions and confirmed freedom to operate via an independent analysis.
She has set herself apart from counterparts through her ability to understand the science of chemistry and biotechnology and by forming effective teams to dive deeper into a broad spectrum of technologies.
Texas Lawyer will publish profiles of Barrett and the other honorees in their September issue and will recognize them at an awards ceremony on Sept. 18, 2019, at the Belo Mansion in Dallas.
